Mark Church
Mark Church is an Electrical Engineer and a P.Eng. with a 35+ year track record of world class success in electronic product development and intellectual property. After his Engineering degree from the University of Waterloo, Mark began working at Research In Motion, which later changed its name to BlackBerry, as the 5th employee in 1990. Mark held the position of Director of Hardware Engineering and Director of Product Development, reporting to the President during the development of the first BlackBerry, the first BlackBerry with voice, and dozens of earlier products. He was actively involved in the business strategy, technical integration, and worldwide deployment of the BlackBerry solution. Subsequent to these positions, he has specialized in Intellectual Property management, litigation support, inventor mentoring, and strategy with BlackBerry from 2003 until 2013. He has been involved in the strategy and technical support of several high profile patent litigations and negotiations. Mark is an inventor on several US, Canadian and International patents.
